Please join me in thanking our colleague Jimmy Ip, Director of Regulatory Affairs for Asia and Pacific, for his many contributions to our company.  As many of you are aware, he is dealing with a medical condition that has caused him to retire.  His last day with us will be July 31, and our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy during this challenging time.
    
   Jimmy joined our company in 2011 and has had a distinguished 40-year career.  As a registered chemist and medical laboratory scientist, he started his career as a hospital laboratory scientist in the Chemical Pathology Department of the Prince Henry’s Hospital in Melbourne.  He then turned to the commercial side working for several Australian and international companies, including Miles Laboratories, Becton Dickinson and Medtronic where he built the first RA team in China.  Prior to joining Edwards, Jimmy was with Stryker where he was responsible for establishing the company’s regulatory affairs function in China.
    
   With Edwards, Jimmy has helped us develop our regulatory affairs team in Asia Pacific to support our growing business.  Particularly, he was instrumental in our approvals for bovine valves in China so we can re-introduce those into the market.  His vast experience and participation in various government and medical device trade associations have been valuable to our team and we are thankful for his efforts in helping us establish a strong team that is well-positioned for future success.
    
   While Jimmy will be leaving our company, his spirit will remain with us and we are thankful for all of his dedicated efforts towards helping patients.
