Dear Grandpa,

I appreciate that you took care of me when my parents were making our family's first move to North America while I was still in China.

I appreciate that you taught me advanced mathematics when you visited us in Canada. I believe it had lasting impact on my ability to become successful in technical fields. I wouldn't be where I am today without you.

I am sad that the last time I saw you was briefly in November 2019, before the pandemic sent all the countries of the world to restrict their borders. If it weren't for the pandemic, I know I would've seen you again more recently. Forgive me.

But I am happy that you have a lived a long and great life. I miss you, grandpa.

很难过，上一次有机会短暂地见您，还是在2019年11月。几个月之后，疫情便蔓延全球，各国的边界也封锁了起来。多希望没有疫情，我还能回中国再见到您。这是我的遗憾，希望您能原谅我！

虽然您永远离开了我们，但您长寿而且精彩的一生会一直激励着我们。我很想您，外公！
