Mark was born in Datong City, Shan Xi province on October 7th 1977. He is the youngest among the siblings. He has one elder brother and three elder sisters. Mark was this cute, smart, and loving kid whose mom, dad and sisters fell deeply in love with ever since he was little. His third sister still vividly remembers going to school with Mark hand-in-hand.
The financial situation in Mark’s family was not very good, but the family lived an extremely frugal life in order to support Mark going to school. Mark did not let the family down. He spent his elementary, middle and high school period in Datong. He studied very hard and got admitted to China University of Mining and Technology in 1996. He became the first college graduate in his village. He has been the one the parents, the family, and the village have been so proud of.
After 4 years of studying and training in college, he became an expert in electronics and information technology; what’s more, he learned about life and established his resilient character.
After graduating from college, Mark started his first job in 宁波奉化康龙 Electronic Corporation in July of 2000. He was in charge of hardware circuit design, microcontroller programming, and providing on-site emergency solution to problems. Because of his hard work, he was promoted to the head of the Department of hardware design.
Between 2002 and 2005, Mark worked in 杭州亿恒 Technology Corporation. He was in charge of hardware circuit design, circuit design software for multilayer wiring, analog signal conditioning, D and D signal conversion, and digital signal processing. He was awarded “honor scientist” by the company because of his hard work and achievements.
Mark has been with ACEA Biosciences, Inc. since June 20, 2005. He has been focused on hardware and firmware design and was the first employee in our engineering department. During the past 4 years, Mark worked diligently, faced challenges with courage, and undertook a number of difficult technical problems. Based on his hard work and outstanding achievements, he was promoted to Engineering Electronics R & D Manager and E-Workshop Manager. He took on so much responsibility in leading the R & D team and successfully developed multiple products. Mark was a passionate, tolerant, sincere, humorous, and optimistic person, who was always willing to help others. He was a great friend and colleague to us. His work ethic and accomplishments are obvious to and recognized by all of us. His candid communication with colleagues, dedication to the work, talents in innovative work is our example and will always be remembered.
After 4 years of hard work and personal struggle, Mark accomplished another life milestone. In 2004, he got married to Caiyun. In 2007, they welcomed the birth of their son. They have been enjoying a happy family life.
Unfortunately, on November 26, 2009 – Thanksgiving Day, a tragedy happened. He drowned. The death of Mark is too much of a shock to be comprehended by anyone. However, we have to face the fact that Mark is gone. Mark didn’t leave any last word. His death is such tragic news that it has put his family into deep mourning.
Mark was only 32 years old when he left us. It is such a heartbreaking tragedy. It is a great loss to all of us. We wish him well in heaven. Our hearts go out to Mark’s family. And we wish his family safe and well in the future
